Game Ideas
Fill the Bucket
- You will need: 2 buckets or bowls of equal size; one spoon
or small shovel for each guest; and a pile of sand next to each
bucket (make sure you have enough sand to fill each bucket). This
game can also be played in a sandbox. Divide your guests into two
teams. Have each team sit around their bucket. When you say "go,"
each team must try to fill their bucket with sand, using only their
spoons.
Digging
for Buried Treasure - This is a perfect game for someone
who has a sandbox. Hide a number of small toys in a sandbox and have
your guests dig through the sand in search of fun treasures.
Bean
Bag Toss - This game is even more fun if you have a foremans
construction hat for the bean bag thrower to wear. Before the party,
make "rock" bean bags out of a pair of gray socks by filling
them with beans and closing them with a rubber band. If your child
has a toy dump truck, it can be the target. If not, you can draw
a dump truck on the side of a cardboard box. Give each child three
tries to hit the dump truck from about 5 feet away (or throw the
"rocks" through the hole cut in the cardboard. If this
is too easy, move the target farther away. Your guests will enjoy
a real sense of accomplishment when theyre able to successfully
play this game!
Boulder
Toss - Divide your
little workers into two equal teams in separate lines. Give the
leader of each line an inflated balloon. At the sound of go they
must try to pass the balloon in the air to the next person in line
without it ever touching the ground. When it reaches the end person
have them pass it back to the front. The first team to get it to
the front of the line wins.
Off
to Work Relay Race - Use safety goggles, toolbelts, jeans,
workboots and gloves. The children divide up into teams and each
team stands in two different lines, 10 feet apart, facing each other.
Each time they ran across to their teammate they had to dress the
other "for work".
Food
Ideas
Crank Case Oil Sundaes - You
will need: Vanilla ice cream; Chocolate syrup; *Chopped peanuts
(make sure your guests aren't allergic to them first). Directions:
Make chocolate sundaes and top them with the chopped peanuts. Then
add a toothpick with a homemade red construction paper "stop
sign" glued to the top. The kids will love that extra special
touch, but nothing will stop them from eating these tasty sundaes.
Drivable
Sandwiches - Prepare your childs favorite type
of sandwich. Cut off two corners to make a car shape. Then, add
pickle slices for the wheels. Were sure your guests will race
to get their hands on these fun sandwiches.
Make
A Construction Cake - Make a sheet cake and frost with
chocolate frosting. Crush some Oreo Cookies and put on top to look
like dirt. Decorate with Street Sign Set and don't forget the Construction
Cone Candles
